I loved the original Battlezone (not the Atari arcade game, but the Activision PC game that was half shooter, half RTS). I just couldn't get enough of that game, and it really felt like I was in the middle of a battle, directing *and* participating in the action.
Battlezone 2 was OK, but wasn't quite as fun and seemed buggier.
So, are there any other games like this, that mix RTS and first person shooters? I'm primarily looking for single-player games - I know there's some kind of Quake mod out there like this, but I'm looking for single-player, not multi-player.

I have played a bunch of games and I haven’t seen any that even come close to the playing Style BZ2 presented. The GameSpot and IGN articles are somewhat older from when they were still establishing themselves forggotten reliable, but are still probably within reason for WP: So long as we keep that in mind, there’s no reason why we can’t work together to resolve this and improve the article.

In reality though, I believe it is best to avoid confusing the reader. Probably because the site is gone A small bit on a project archive page. Some are very clear cut, while other are intentionally left broad to create a wide umbrella or protection. It’s an interesting game, but that doesn’t mean that its article here is except from Wiki’s guidelines on video games.

A number of the sources also covered the release of the unofficial patches. To date, there is 1 reference listed in the entire article. Forgotten Enemies introduced the Hadeans, they will be a welcome addition to the Combat Commander game play. Ok, I will have to figure out how to make sure the information on my page is compleatly legal, but this is something that will take some time.

That kind of talk will get you nowhere and will only serve to make the debate hostile. It is only unofficial because for it to be official, the publisher Activision would need to make it so, and the name is currently owned by Atari, and all three companies in question are all in competition currently.
